I was on the schedule to work 11:00am - 7:00pm today, though Jodi promised me on Wednesday that I would be the first sent home.

I got a ride from Mom to work, since it had been raining and I'd rather not have gotten caught in it.

I get out of the car and go in in my stupid hat and ugly-ass work t-shirt, and Jodi and Sue are standing behind the counter talking to someone. I wave on my way in...

And Jodi says, "Did you stay at home last night?"

"You didn't get our message?"

"You totally don't need me here, do you?"

I had to walk home.

Stripped out of my work clothes in the friggin' dining room and carried them upstairs. Napped. And had a nightmare about getting horribly bitched at at work because there weren't any mozzarella sticks in the freezer.

Never ever ever ever working in food service again.
