My back hurts. Now I remember why I usually sit on a throw pillow on this couch.

albsrpski, sorry about bailing off Yahoo! at you this afternoon. D8 My Windows Movie Maker takes up a LOT of CPU usage, and Liz is in desperate, desperate need of a reformat. Between the high-quality footage I was using and the amount of clips I was hacking everything into, WMM absolutely FREAKED at me many, many times. I ended up having to save the video one third at a time and re-import the footage - IN ADDITION to having WMM be the absolutely ONLY thing running besides Notepad. And by that I mean no messengers, no Firefox, nada. I even turned off several quiet-run programs from the system tray. Lawd.

BUT IT'S DONE. MechaCon's FTP server hates me (or maybe I just don't know how to use it 8D), so I'm going to have to... pray. That they'll take a disc postmarked July 2nd. I've asked on the forums, so we'll just have to see. :/

Four years, three computers, two versions of Windows Movie Maker and two operating systems in the making. Because of the way WMM indexes files, this entire video had to be remade - twice - due to changing computers and to make up for the low quality of the original file. Even though it was only thirty seconds from being complete. I shit you not.

On the plus side, it came out a million times better the final time. The original wasn't as cohesive; some parts were just... random.

Entered in the "Best Action Video" category.

Now I am going the fuck to bed.
...Gotta get up and watch eBay auctions for cosplay pieces tomorrow. 8D

[Edit 3] Sweet. Came out pretty well. A few glitches, but only one is in a place I actually need it, and I should be able to either work around that entirely or just snip the glitch out.

I posted links to this and this on the cosplay board of MechaCon's forums as an example of how you CAN get good props out of cardboard, tagboard and masking tape, painted with spray paint and detailed with Sharpie.

Now I just need tabi socks and hopefully to win that gorgeous wig I've got my eye on. It's got one bid on it already (damnit), but I am going to keep stalking and hopefully buy it out from under the other person.

In case you're wondering why I'm suddenly purchase-happy after having been FREAKING OUT for the last month or so, my return receipt came back from the loan company. They got my application. :D Within two weeks, I will have my loan check, and can pay myself back for the college account deposits, books, art supplies and fucking groceries that should have been covered by loan anyways this past semester. BECCA. LYN. YOUR ASSES ARE COMING HERE, OKAY? Srsly if you need help gimme a holler. I don't have to start paying back this loan until I graduate. 8D

So. Uh. How are we getting to Otakon, guys? XD I am totally willing to drive from home to Baltimore by myself or with anyone else. Loni could fly straight to Baltimore and Juggie could fly from PIT to BWI, or I could fly Loni into Pittsburgh, go pick up both her and Juggie, and then drive to Otakon. BWI and PIT are almost equidistant from me, regardless. c.c So uh. What's cheaper for you, Jugger, flying to BWI or chipping in for gas? :| CLEARLY WE NEED TO BRAINSTORM SOON.

OH SNAP. Loni plane tickets drop in price like $50 if I fly back Monday instead. By sixty-five if I fly back Tuesday. o_o; I THINK I will be negotiating a week off from my work. 8D The loss in pay over a few days is worth the price reduction, the extra time with you guys (<3) and the safety of my sanity. Oh yes.
